The Orange wines of the Gallino family: a particular production

Orange wine is distinguished from other wines obtained from white grapes due to its particular processing. White wines involve the division of grape juice from its skins after pressing. While Orange wine is obtained with the processing of white grapes from which the skin is not removed during pressing. As happens in the vinification of red wines. The juice of Orange wine is kept for days in contact with its skin, during the maceration phase of the skins. In these days the skins are manually pressed towards the bottom of the tank, morning and evening of each day. After fermentation and racking, the wine is left on the fine lees for about eight months, with weekly battonage. During these processes the wine takes on an important structure and more complex and rich aromas. But above all it gets its characteristic color, thanks to prolonged contact with its skins.

Finally, the wine is decanted several times, without filtering it. The bottling takes place in an eco-sustainable way thanks to the use of a light glass and a completely recyclable cork, including the seal. Do you want to know more about the production of Moda Giuvu?
